Brother UK Ltd. is a member of the Brother Group of Nagoya, Japan. Their UK operation began in 1959 in London, but subsequently moved to Manchester when they took over the Jones Sewing Machine Company in 1968 as a base for marketing their range of typewriters, knitting and sewing machines. They still operate out of the Manchester office today, which is also the headquarters of Brother Europe.
